Aikin was tying her shoe laces while seated in their porch. Ryan, a man in his late twenties wearing white shorts and shoes and dark blue dri-fit shirt, is walking toward her direction.
"Hi Aikin! Will you be having your training tonight?", Ryan asked with a smile. "Not really, I'll just be having a walk. I still have aching left knee.", Aikin monotonously replied.
"Can I join you then?", Ryan quickly speak out.
Aikin nodded. They walk under the moonlight. The stars sparkle. The atmosphere is gloomy. The trees swayed as if singing a lullaby. The street is filled with only a few people walking and running around.
There was quite a long silence. Ryan broke it by telling his tale for the day. As he continue his story, Aikin, looked blankly on the road that they were traversing and a smile flashed vividly on her lips. She hears nothing but silence. Ryan, noticing that Aikin is not listening stopped talking for a while. Then he scolded Aikin, "Hey! You were not even listening to me."
She looked at him, still wearing that smile and says, "I just miss THIS."
However lines in her face were already visible. It could probably be brought by the frown she had been wearing for a long time now.
"What?", Ryan exclaimed.
"I just miss this. It has been a long time since we talked like this.", Aikin smiled a little more. Then she suddenly frowned. "Do you remember when was the last time we talked like this?"
Startled, Ryan gulped. Never wanted to show that he is also missing it, he resort at blaming Aikin for everything. "It was all your fault. You're very different now. You had changed a lot. You just don't care at all. You're so careless at handling other people's feelings."
Aikin slowly decellarate her speed, she looked back on the road while holding back the tears. "You know that I love you. And I just can't feel that you still do." Aikin paused for while, for if she continue speaking, she'll definitely burst out into tears.
"There's just so many moments that I wanted to spend with you. But I just can't demand anything from you." Finally, a tear fell from her eyes that flowed down her rosy cheeks.
Ryan felt a sword stabbed in his heart, but he just wanted to cover his pride so he laughed out loud and says, "That's the problem with you. You were so emotional. Grow up Aikin! You're still the childish girl I've met five years ago."
Aikin stopped right in front of their house. The same spot where Ryan asked to join her earlier. "I'm already here. I am already done with my recovery."
Ryan continued to walk and never looked back at her.
Aikin, with still so many thoughts to say, called him "Hey!"
Ryan looked back.
"Thank You..."
Ryan just waved his hand as he go farther to bid goodbye. She waited until Ryan is no longer with her sight.
"Thank you for everything. Maybe we're better off this way. I'll just cry these tears each night, until I ran out of tears."
She then entered her house. As she turned around, a star falls from the sky. No, she does not miss the falling star to make a wish. The heavens had just wept a tear, feeling sorry for her fragile heart.
Falling star does not always mean a chance to wish and make your dreams come true. Sometimes, they were just teardrops from heaven, weeping with someone with a lonely heart.

Love the story Madz. You know sometimes it's hard to understand the one you love, but sometimes it's simple as making pancakes. ;)
